Funny thing about the web. A web site just doesn't seem complete unless you put in a bunch of links to sites that either belong to your friends or are things you just think are neat. Click on these links as you wish. It doesn't really matter to me, but maybe you'll find something useful and/or amusing. :-) |

Sites belonging to friends and family members. |
|
| The Brother's Grinn | Dave Learn and David McCandless (or is that David McCandless and Dave Learn?) aren't really brothers, but this is the web site produced by their twisted little minds. What started out as making fun of mindless "inspirational" e-mails has started growing like a cancer. I'm just glad that I'm not related to either one of them. |
| FriendScript | Amy Stone (nee Friends) is a calligraphy enthusiast and came up with this site to showcase her work. Of course, now that she's hitched, she's gonna have to come up with a new wordplay. :-) Congratulations Squish! |
|
Gaithersburg/ Germantown Jaycees |
As a science fiction fan, computer programmer, and member of my local Jaycees chapter (with more fancy titles than I care to think about), I feel a lot like Buckaroo Banzai in that I seem to be going through life in several directions at once. |
| Scarred for Life | This is an archive of my younger brother Dave's weekly "Scarred for Life" column he writes for publication on the Internet. Dave provides the editorial content for the site, and I provide the behind-the-scenes technical know-how that makes it work. |
|
The Cowgirl Coder |
Sue Petersen is a techie. More impressively, she's a published techie with articles appearing in Windows Tech Journal, PC Techniques, and VB Tech Journal (among others). She's also got a recurring Book Review column. Summaries of her articles (and, in cases where she owns the copyright, the entire article) appear on-line. |
| The Little Guy | Tom Restivo -- The one and only Little Guy. If you know Tom, you might also want to check out The Virtual Little Guy. |
| Jay | Jay Berkenbilt's page has some rather interesting insights into Jay. |
| Lisa | Lisa Paradis' page. Also check out Lisa's sideline business at: Amethyst Rose. |
| Carver's Page | Jennifer "Carver" Morris is a talented wood carver (hence the nickname) who's sold a number of pieces at various local Science Fiction conventions, including a wooden Bat'leh which Robert O'Reilly (Klingon Chancellor Gowron on Star Trek) auctioned at Farpoint in 1998. (Some of her creations can be seen on the How to Make Toys page.) |
| Starlost | In his spare time, Ponch Fenwick plays with 3D image rendering. Some of his work can be found on this site. |

|
| STARFLEET | The International Star Trek Fan Association, founded in 1974, STARFLEET is the world's oldest and largest Star Trek Fan Group. |
| USS Athena | A STARFLEET Chapter located in Reston Virginia. Dig through their site a bit and you may recognize photos of someone they call "The Emissary". |
| Escape Pod 17 | Former web site of USS Dauntless, a now-defunct chapter of STARFLEET. When the group disbanded, the web site was reborn as Escape Pod 17. |

General Science Fiction Fan Resources |
|
| Star Trek | This is Paramount's official source for information on upcoming Star Trek events. It includes previews of upcoming episodes, cast and character biographies, and other Trek-related information. |
|
Babylon 5 (Warner) |
Warner Brother's original Babylon 5 web site. B5 is in a weird situation these days. It's still owned by Warner Brothers, but the episodes now air on TNT. As a result, they've got two official web sites. |
|
Babylon 5 (TNT) |
Turner Network Television's Babylon 5 web site. Completely different from Warner's site, but equally cool. |
| The Dominion | This isn't "The Dominion" I'm associated with. This is the Sci-Fi channel's web site. Also a cool site. |
| Fanboy's Convention List | Lists Science Fiction, Fantasy, Gaming and other types of conventions around the world. The information on this site is also published in print and electronically by various groups within STARFLEET The International Star Trek Fan Association. |

Some Humorous sites. |
|
| Babbling Farce | What if Ranger Marcus Cole (B5) had been a Scotsman? (Complete with a kilt!)
Start off with that premise, combine it with the humor and artistic skills of
Todd Brugmans and you've got The Scotsman's Babbling Farce.
Those who enjoy plaing the Babylon 5 Customizable Card Game should be sure to check out the new CCG cards in the archive. (Archive entries #56 and #59.) Be warned: This site is graphics intense as most of the Babbling Farce is made up of cartoons. |
|
The Dilbert Zone. I work in the computer industry, so of course I'm a Dilbert reader. (If you don't "get" Dilbert, then you probably work as some sort of manager.) |
| B.C. | One of my long-time favorites, Johnny Hart's BC strip; now on the web. |
|
For Better or For Worse |
It usually surprises folks when they find out I read this strip. It's just not the kind of "over the top" humor folks associate with me. Lynn Johnston is a terrific storyteller, and it's been enjoyable watching her characters mature and evolve over time. And it doesn't hurt that my parents are named John and Ellie. |
| User Friendly | Another cartoon for techies. While Dilbert concentrates on poking fun at stupid business practices,User Friendly also pokes fun at the techies themselves and some current events. |
| Kevin & Kell | When a rabbit marries a wolf, you end up with Kevin & Kell. There's some humor on geek stereotypes, the juxtaposition of daily life onto a world populated by intelligent animals, and just some good old-fashioned humor. |
| Red & Rover | The classic adventures of a boy and his dog. (Or is that a dog and his boy?) |
| Frazz | This one's hard to describe. Frazz is an adult who still remembers what it's like to be a kid. He works as the janitor at his old elementary school where the kids love him and faculty want to be like him. |
