Off to School

Dear Wylie,

When the weather starts getting warmer, my little humans are home more to play with me. But, after a couple of months, they leave home in the morning and don't come home until the afternoon. Did I do something wrong?

Fritz
Blairsville, PA

Dear Fritz,

Humans can be so much like us that it's sometimes easy to forget how different they are. But humans are different from us in many ways. One difference is that humans usually belong to more than one pack.

Once they're about five years old, young humans start spending time with other humans in a place called "school." The young humans still belong to their home pack, but from September through May, they're also part of the "school" pack.

So you see, this isn't because of anything you've done, it's just one of the ways in which humans are different from dogs.

WOOF!
Wylie

P.S. If you live near one of those "school" places, get one of your big humans to take you past while the little ones are still going in. This is an excellent opportunity to get some extra head pats!
